CRAPS AT HARRAHS NEW ORLEANS - Harrah's Casino New Orleans
I'm taking a little trip across the country for the next few weeks and stopping in various nearby casinos along the way. I just finished a trip to New Orleans. Well, actually, I'm still in New Orleans right now, but it's raining extremely hard and I don't feel like leaving my hotel right now, so I decided to go ahead and write this review of Harrah's. According to Wikipedia, Harrah's New Orleans casino opened in , with the attached all-suite hotel opening a few years later.
The casino was apparently damaged and closed for a few months after Hurricane Katrina, but it has been very well renovated and there is no evidence of any damage at all. The casino is located right in the heart of downtown New Orleans, across the street from the Riverwalk and about 6 blocks from Bourbon St. It is the only casino in Louisiana that is not on a riverboat, Indian reservation or horse track.
Fortunately, there are many hotels nearby which are also bookable through caesars. On a totally unrelated, but interesting side note, the elevators in the Marriott work a little differently than most others. There are no floor buttons in the elevators themselves I thought this worked pretty well in general, although sometimes I had to wait a while to go down to the lobby from my room. I'll try and edit this post to add a picture of this system later on. The casino itself is very large, probably comparable in square footage to that of Caesars Palace or Aria.
Harrah's did a commendable job in realizing the New Orleans theme, both inside and out. Each of the different sections has a different theme and name--one part with a colorful Mardi Gras theme, another with crazy "Haunted Mansion"-style antique chandeliers and fixtures, and so on. There are lots of great little touches too, like the field bet on all the craps layouts--which is instead labeled "Bayou. I also found the casino workers to be friendly and fun for the most part as well.
If Kahn's model is correct, redirecting the 540 million now wasted on spreading the myth of heterosexual AIDS to high-risk groups - mostly gays and inner-city drug users - could wipe out new infections entirely. Just imagine how many hundreds of sad days I spent while in quivering anticipation, my body longs for your fries quot;machinequot.
76 patient. I am a girl baby doll and Miss quot;seriousnessquot; My big eyes, gorgeous eyelashes privorozhat you, my slim figure, and soft hands will give you a lot of tenderness and vzbudorazhat your blood. It was ecstasy, I shot cum all over her naked chest and watched her moan as it dripped down her, all over my hands, still buried deep in her.
The video poker pay tables were no better in the high limit area than the best offered elsewhere in the casino. The VIP lounge can only be entered through the high limit room. There is no non-smoking area. House tickets expire in 60 days and pari-mutuels in days. There was a non-smoking area, and no smoking was allowed at the betting windows. Poker The poker room is quite large with 35 tables. I arrived around After about a 15 minute wait, I was seated at a no-limit game.
The whole area was non-smoking, and there was no smoking while standing on the rail watching. They serve doughnuts in the morning. There is a convenient back route between the poker area and the hotel rooms.
Also, the poker room is also a handy place to cash chips you have left over from your other play — they had no problem cashing 10 black for me. The daytime players were mostly locals and knew each other. Players earn points for placing in these tournaments. Such promotions are obviously aimed at the locals market.
The poker room is right across from the food court, so a quick snack is easy. Bingo There is no bingo. Keno There was a 30 seat keno area. Games were dropped every 5 minutes, 24 hours per day. The results were broadcast to the hotel room TVs. There are specials for locals, like the Sunday night keno contest. There was no separate VIP line. When a player cut in front of me, I was told that VIP card holders were allowed to do this. I had several very long waits to cash chips.
Look carefully at the signage before standing in line and think strategically. Cashing out at the poker room may be a better choice.
About four running backs selected after Round 5 finished in the top 20 at their position in an average year. Only three undrafted players became RB top 20 material by year's end — Rhodes in '01, Davis in '03 and Droughns in ' Based on CADP results, the average round you could potentially find a diamond in the rough is Round 10, or pick What does this all mean? You're playing Russian roulette if you don't select two backs early. It's conceivable — although an enhanced risk — to avoid the running theory and win your fantasy Super Bowl in a non-PPR performance league that starts two RBs and three WRs.
For example, if you were to take Chad Johnson in Round 2 instead of Domanick Davis and go Randy Moss in Round 3 over Corey Dillon , you would have to roll craps on a marginal back in Round 4 or later to be a significant force. And if is anything like , your team will make you feel like you're trapped at Bed, Bath and Beyond towel shopping with your wife on a fall Sunday. Of course, you could be a waiver hawk and find short-term solutions like Samkon Gado , Greg Jones and Marion Barber , all of whom filled in brilliantly in small dosages last year, but you can't count on that being a consistent option.
As the evidence confirms, there are few guarantees after the top 20 backs come off the board. Those in denial ask: What about the guys who won their leagues avoiding your asinine nonsense? Typically, a team draft will go 50 backs deep. After the top 20 are gone, you have roughly a 14 percent chance of finding a football Jesus out of the remaining pool of uncertainty. If that isn't stabbing in the dark with a Swiss army knife, what is? If you want to build a championship caliber squad, take two dependable backs in the infant stages of your draft.
Yes, there will be busts every season as Ahman Green and Jamal Lewis painfully reminded us of last year, but if you bank on a potential mid-round gem as a No.
For those in deeper formats, stick with the typical RB-RB-WR thinking due to the enormous tier-to-tier decline at running back. As noted in last week's Noise , the slide from the first to tenth running back has averaged an eye-popping difference of Regardless of what routes you choose, remember that depth at RB is a necessity for injury replacements and trading purposes.
